Today the league officials for the SRS have released the Schedule for Season 2.
Test Race will be run on the 18th. So get your paint schemes in soon or you will have a basic car.
The SRS has just finished the first season of racing and have crowned their first Champion. Mark Jeppson has been a power house all season and shows it by winning the first ever SRS Cup. We talked to team owner Robert Jeppson about the end of the season and he had this to say:
"We are very proud of Mark and what he has done for our race team. We look forward to him defending it next year, and know he will be a challange to all. Id have him come over and say something but he is already off partying. We Thank him for joining us and congrat him on winning the first ever cup. We also want to say thnx to the #10 Cody jones who through rough times stayed with us and we got him into a nice 6th spot finish overall. We do want to talk to him about a contract we would like to keep him he is a great driver. But that is for him to decide."
"We would also like to Welcom the new Addition To the Jeppson Racing team the #53 Car and Driver Walnetta Jeppson. She will be driving for us and will be sponsored by Dove/Disney. We would just like to welcome here to the team."
With one more race to go in the season the top 5 look like this
Mark Jeppson 5769
Gordon Murphy -143
Jesse Burk -165
Jordan Swance -232
Robert Jeppson -276
With these standings Gordon Murphy has a chance going into the final race to take the Championship away From Mark Jeppson. There are a couple things that need to happen though. Mark needs to go out early in the race, the more laps he completes the worse for Gordon it gets. Gordon needs to also lead the most laps and Win The race, which is a good possibility as Gordon has been driving so well this season. If all this happens Gordon will still the Championship away from Mark.
Jesse Burk has a lot more that needs to happen for him. He needs Gordon and Mark to both end up in last with Very few laps as possible completed. Without this the best he could finish is second.
Jordan Swance and Robert Jeppson have been battling each other for the 4th and 5th spots all season. Really the only thing that these 2 can do is beat each other out for those 2 spots.
Homestead will be an exciting race, And we cant wait to see what the outcome is. Will this be Gordons year or will th eteam that has been so dominate with the 20 car end up on top? We will see on Friday when the action takes place.
